The Bowen Technique is a gentle form of natural healing. A Bowen session involves only light moves that are applied to very specific points of the body with significant intervals between each set of moves.
In a Bowen session small inputs are given to the body by using light and gentle touch therefore the body itself can initiate a healing reaction. These gentle moves can have a powerful effect not only on the posture and structural problems, such as back pain, frozen shoulder, but also on the general well being of the person.
The intention of Bowen work is to stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal.
Bowen addresses many conditions related to the body, such as muscle discomfort, digestive and bowel problems such as IBS, by reducing pain and increasing physical mobility. It helps with allergies, asthma conditions, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, headache and migraines. Anxiety and stress/related conditions are also well treated.

Tom Bowen, the pioneer of the Bowen Technique, understood the importance of a few modalities while treating people and suggested drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration, exercise to avoid muscle stiffness and a healthy diet.
